We are designing a large warehouse type building with joist girder moment frames in both directions (however no columns are acting biaxially in frames).
This is a large footprint building and thus lots of frames.
We need to extract end moments (dead, live, snow, and controlling wind) for the virtual joist girders to put in our drawings.
What are my options to do this? I really don't want to use a graphical method. I would prefer to have a report that I can export and then manipulate to identify where we can group virtual joist girders with similar end moments.
Member forces report gives me all the forces along the length of the beam. If there was a way i could limit this to i and j ends?
Member force envelope only gives me the envelope obviously, so I can't get moments for each individual load case.
Thanks!
Hello Ethan,
I think the best way to extract the end moments is to use beam end forces option available under report setup.
You can also use load cases of your choice under loading tab and generate the report. Refer help file to know more option related to this.

You can then export it in Ms word file and from there you can copy the data to excel and work further.
