I only added post at this location as a support for my vertical and horizontal brace and not as a support for the main beam, below

RE: Load Transfer (Beam to Post)

Arunraj, thank you for the reply it was very helpful

RE: Load Transfer (Beam to Post)

@Column Top , Kindly provide the Release as FX Value so that Column wonot take any vertical Force from Staad

RE: Load Transfer (Beam to Post)

Abhishek, thank you for the response however I don't think I can proceed with eliminating the post at all as my horizontal and vertical braces need to connect to it ( see picture below for the reference).

My problem is that I am trying to design the footing for the highlighted post (building is already existing except for the vertical braces and additional post) and am trying to reduce its size. To reduce footing size, I only want the highlighted posts to carry loads from the vertical and horizontal braces connected to it (none from the beam above), please advise on how I can proceed or if controlling load path to this extent is possible in STAAD.

Then you can apply a suitable support at that point and that will eliminate the need to model the post.
