For some reason, RAM Frame is not reporting the unbalanced brace loads in the Seismic Provisions > OCBF-V beam output. Is this a software bug or did I miss a setting somewhere?
Are the braces in a standard chevron configuration and also assigned the frame type - OCBF-Chevron?
They are assigned the correct frame type. I'm not certain exactly what you define as a standard chevron configuration, but the braces meet at the mid-span of the beam. See screenshot below verifying the frame type is assigned properly.
Yes, that's what a meant, two braces framing to a point along the beam. It's working OK for me, so I can't be sure what's wrong for you. I would try performing the design-all first and if it still fails test a different code edition to narrow things down.
The braces are not modeled as BRBFs are they?
I'll try those suggestions. Funny you mention BRBFs, this project was originally BRBF, and was subsequently changed to OCBFs. Could there be a flag somewhere that I need to change?
It should be controlled by the assigned size of the brace, but if the error persists, modeling new braces would surely take care of it.
Thanks for the suggestions, but I tried deleting and remodeling the braces with no success. Changing the code also didn't help. We have already done the checks by hand, so this is not a huge priority for me, but it is a nice feature to double check with.
If you want to send the file I can check it in the latest build.
I would be curious to see if you have better luck. Uploaded.
