Why is it that in RAM Connection, Base Plate module, fixed biaxial, that tensile loads in anchor bolts aren't distributed based on their location to the load application point? For example, if I have a column with a 2x2 anchor bolt layout, with one of the anchors offset from the standard pattern, the anchor bolts should not all have the same tensile loads but they do in RAM Connections.
Is this a pure tension loading or a combination of axial and moment? What design code and program version? (or send your file).
It is pure tensions, with unsymmetrical anchor bolts. Program version is below. It is AISC 2016 LRFD and ACI 318 11
This is designed as a moment connection. If there is some moment then you'll start to see some variation in the bolt tensions.
Yes, but there should also be variation since the bolts aren't symmetrical. If I adjust the longitudinal offset to 0.04 inches, it updates the anchor forces as expected per the picture below. If the longitudinal offset is a 0.03 inches, it remains at 1.75k per anchor. The picture below is from a longitudinal offset of 0.04 inches.
