Hello. Good day!
I was designing a mat foundation at STAAD Foundation Advanced and it cannot give a "PLOT Failure Diagram".
Further, it will give an error message saying "The bar arrangement provided corresponds to a steel area that is less than the minimum required steel area prescribed by the code. Hence, the calculated capacity is lower than the minimum capacity that the code requires." and "Unable to determine a rational value of flexure capacity for steel provided."
Punching Shear passed and the steel area required from the designed were solved and none failed.
What seems to be the problem?
The issue seems to be the values you have entered to calculate the moment capacity. Make sure that the reinforcement details you have entered in the "Plot capacity diagram" is more than the minimum capacity requirement of the code.
Hello Aswathi. Thanks. I just found out that some plates failed. When I plot the capacity diagram and failure diagram even with the highest bar size, the same error comes out.
Okay. Let us know if it works after making the plates pass all the design checks.
Sure. Thank you.
