Hi I'm using RAM cnnection, version 13 update 6. I need to check a splice connection but in this version i could only see standard sections to be used. Is there any updated version where we can input custom beam sizes, plate sizes and bolt coordinates.? To model a splice connection that's something like this
Thanks & Regards
Sambhav
I do not see the Setback option at my version of RAM Connection (V13.9) so I am not sure what the Setback, only as much as is explained in your screenshot. You can create custom sections in RAM Connection as explained in this WIki: Creating custom Sections, Materials etc. in RAM Elements [TN] - RAM | STAAD | ADINA Wiki - RAM | STAAD | ADINA - Bentley Communities
Code used is Australia and connection template End plate BS HSS. I'm not sure Im using the right one. please suggest.
Can you please confirm on the setback query above?
A lot of RAM Connection tutorial can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/@BentleyStructuralAnalysis/playlists?view=50&sort=dd&shelf_id=9Which design code and what connection template are you using?
Can you please share this RAM file or a tutorial
What does setback mean?
If the splice plates are 80mm thick would the setback be 160mm then? i see there are only predefined prismatic sections. What if we want to develop a section that is not in the database?
You can control all connection configuration in the Connection Pad view. I can see that your connection has some stiffeners, which are not supported in the beam splice connections in RAM Connection as of now.
