I MODEL A BEAM A BEAM OF 12 M SPAN IN WHICH THE SUPPORTS ARE ASSIGNED AT 8 M C/C AND REST 2.2 M FROM EITHER SIDE IS CANTILEVR , NOW IF I CHANGES THE BEAM INCIDENCE THE SHEAR FORCE DIAGRAM IS CHANGED (REVERSED) WHILE LOADING POINT IS SAME
But some time we need to change the incidence of the beam, for assigning the releases in start and end condition, and now if any UDL load acting on the member which is applied according to the local axis definition then it is also changes any alternative way to do so? It should not be like this and if it is happening like that then what is the use of the beam incidence option?
Shear force diagram is plotted considering an axis system from one side. When you alter the member incidence it gets also altered. As the design of shear does not depend on the sign of the values, this does not affect the design results. To get the diagram in a desired format please reorient the members with same member incidence like realign the start and end of a member in a line.
