Hi,
I have created a simply supported steel beam in the Physical Modeller (Connect Edition 22.11.00.156). I am designing the beam to the UK National Annex of Eurocode 3.
I have attached 2 different models, the first is a simply supported steel beam with the material specified as S275. On the second model, I have specified the material as S355.
When I change the material from S275 to S355, the Design Capacities do not change. See the screenshots below:
The program seems to be defaulting to S235, even though I specified in the Physical Modeller to use S275 and S355.
Unless I have done something wrong, there seems to be a bug where the program does not apply the correct material even though I have specified what to use in the physical modeller.
Thank-You for your help,
Ryan

You must assign a correct SGR design parameter value to the required member to instruct the program to consider the expected steel strength:When you add the design parameter, make sure that it is added before the CHECK CODE command as only then that design parameter would be considered.
Then what is the point of assigning materials in the physical modeller if I have to manually assign the materials again in the analytical modeller?
The point is that without material assignment the analysis will not run. For the design part, as of now, EN 1993-1-1:2005 implementation cannot read the material properties defined in the Physical Model, so the steel strength needs to be assigned with the help of SGR or PY parameters.
