Hello,
I am modeling multiple beams resting on top of one another. See image here;
I am using the control/dependent specification to create rigid links between the beams, where I have defined node 405 as the control and node 384 as the dependent. Respectively, I have defined node 384 as the control and 363 as the dependent.
After further research I discovered these restrictions:
Therefore I know my current specification arrangement is going to cause an error.
What is the correct way to model these beams? Should node 405 be the control and nodes 384 & 363 be dependent on node 405?
I think instead of using control/dependent relationship, you may manually create rigid links between those nodes (short members joining those nodes with very stiff and weightless material). This should have almost the same effect as control/dependent specification.
So is it wrong to use the control/dependent relationship here? I feel as though adding short members will complicate things as we are presenting our model and the 3D Rendering. I would like to represent the existing structure as accurately as possible.
I think there should not be any issues if you use node 405 as control and other nodes as dependemt.
