Unfortunately, this feature works in a file specific manner. SO, you need to set it for every file. I would suggest you to post this as and idea in the idea tab to review by our product management team.

How do I save it so it applies to all the STAAD files? Right now, I'm having to do that for all the models one by one.

Some modifications were made in this area in the recent versions of STAAD.Pro and now the customization can be made in the Detailed Diagram option only.
