Hello as we know when a project has some columbs which are steel and some which are concrete,we will not be able to design pedestal as concrete and steel are both on the same level.
Is there any trick to design this type of building pedestals?
My intention was to design these concrete columns and to design pedestals which will support these steel columns.
As we know if all columns were steel,we could be able to design pedestals without even modelling concrete columns direct in the model.
If i model concrete columns below the steel columns,which parameters do i need to assign on a joint of steel column and concrete column so as to make sure that my steel columns are pinned support?and when i want the steel columns to be fixed on the pedestal what parameters do i need to assign?

Ok, I understand. You are trying to use RCDC here. This is a known limitation. But if you think of the modelling approach this is not realistic at all. We never support a steel column on direct earth, rather a pedestal is made and connected with steel column through the base plate. Generally for a single building all the footings are placed at a same depth to minimize the effect of relative settlement. For concrete columns we provide the support at the bottom of column at footing level only. So, in this case you can create a pedestal below the steel column and try again which will be much more realistic approach.
See attached snap with STAAD File. The steel members can be designed, but when it comes to concrete columns and pedestals which carries the steel columns that can't be opened in RCDC.

In STAAD.Pro you can design both steel and concrete in a single file. Can you please explain your issue with an example?
