Mezz Slab Exposure Boundary Work-Around

Good Afternoon,

I often have the case in the buildings I work on (PT 2-way slab, high rise) where I have a partial mezzanine level between the ground floor and 2nd floor. In many cases, the mezz slab does not extend to the exterior walls in any location, and at most it only partially extends to an exterior wall.

However, when I do a lateral analysis on RAM my exposure boundaries reflect that my partial mezzanine diaphragm(s) are the edges of my enclosed structure and receive wind load accordingly. See snapshot below with mezzanine being floor 1:

When really the exposure boundary from the 2nd floor to ground should look the same as my floors above, see screenshot below:

This issue is also present when I try to model an interstitial slab for the bottom of an elevated pool. However, our office has worked around that by simplifying the pool interstitial slab as an area load on the slab aligned with the top of the pool.

My question is, how can we work around the limitations of the program so our exposure boundaries skip the mezzanine floor and instead span from the edge of slab from the 2nd floor to ground?

Thank you in advance for your time.
