Hi,
is it possible to control the local x axis and y axis orientation of the plate elements extracted from the SFA. Because when staad file is extracted from SFA the Local z orientation is consistent but the x and y are not. when the orientation of the axis is not controlled, it starts creating problem with the shear and moments of the adjacent plates. so de we have any specific solution to that ?
Hi Nitish, the local orientation of the x and y axes depends on how the plates have been created. You do not need to extract the STAAD.Pro file from SFA. SFA has the capability to transform the plate forces along the line in which you want to lay down your reinforcements and hence this is automatically considered subsequent to which design is performed. However, in STAAD.Pro you will not have this ability of the plate moment transformation.
