Hi: I like to design a liquid retaining structure ( a concrete water tank supported by ground) by ACI codes. ACI 350 Code Requirements for Environmental Engineering Concrete Structure is applicable code for liquid retaining structure. I am wondering if you have any tutorial on the web that can be helpful for designing based on ACI code. Even if you have a liquid retaining structure (concrete water tank) based on ACI 318 (Building code) that is acceptable. After searching on the web I see that you have learning tutorial on liquid retaining structure based EN code but nothing I find based on ACI code. When opens in RCDC I see that lots of code option available in design code selection including ACI 318-19, ACI 318-14 and ACI 318-11. When I selected ACI code, Design Element " Water Tank Structure' button greyed out and the option is not available. For other code (for example EN) "Water Tank Structure" button is available. YouTube tutorial for other code is almost one year old. Just wondering is there any tutorial you have for "Water Tank Structure" based on either ACI 318 or ACI 350 is available by this time? Or any help based on either of ACI codes for designing this structure by Staad Pro advanced will be helpful. Thank You.
Design of water tank structures is currently supported for Eurocode (EN) in the RCDC.
We do not have the ACI implementation for the design of water tanks currently. This is true for both STAAD.Pro and RCDC. RCDC only has the implementation of Eurocode for water tank design.
