I have a question about column design. Per Ram analysis, one column needs 3" spaced transverse reinforcement at 3rd floor. I changed spacing into 7” and reanalyzed to see if it works, but somehow Ram gave me zero Vs for minor direction. I know Ram assumes zero Vc for columns of special moment frame per section 18.7.6.2(ACI318-14), but I'm not sure why it gives me zero Vs also. Please see snip below for Column results.
We fixed a few things related to Concrete Column shear for the upcoming patch. I think it best for me to check your file in the latest build to see if this is different.
Never mind sending the file, I produce this in a test file.
Check to see if the transverse reinforcement spacing exceeds the maximum spacing limits specified in ACI 318-14 Table 10.7.6.5.2. When that occurs, the shear reinforcement cannot be used to resist shear demand. This was the cause of the zero Vs in the tests that Seth mentioned.
If the spacing is less than maximum limits and you still see Vs = 0, please share your model using the Secure File Upload link that Seth provided and post the file name here after it is uploaded.

I adjusted transverse spacing into 3.5" and now it calculates Vs. But I'm still not sure why only minor direction gives me zero Vs whereas major has non zero Vs when I set spacing 4". I've uploaded model(2023.07.20 - RAM - All Areas). Could you please check the model? Thanks.
