I wanted to know what the combination types, highlighted in the image below, effect during the code check process and where the masonry specific combinations come from? Should I be using multiple types of combinations if I am designing walls? How do these coincide with the Design Code, second image below, that is selected for the model?

If you are using strength design as indicated, then the Design & Design-Masonry combos will be used for most checks. The service combos do still get used in the deflection checks.
I am trying to add a column to the wall, but the axial stress is still limited by the wall. Could you tell me what I am doing wrong?

I like to use the FEM view to see how much impact the column rigidity element has on the demand stresses in the wall. Depending how large and stiff the column is, the effect on the wall stresses (and forces) may or may not be significant. It does not directly change the capacity of the wall segment.
