  • If you have design commands in your input file, then you should be able to view the unity check ratios in your output file and in the Post Processing mode, Beam tab, unity check sub-tab.

Does that help?  Is your question where to find the unity ratios or how they are being calculated?

    Cheers,

    Chris

  • Thanks for your reply chris , yes, i am wondering how is it being calculated.

I have attached my model and u could see that some of the columns actually failed. I am wondering how did the columns fail. What does the ratio calculated based on ?

  • I'm not intimately familiar with the details of BS 5950, but what I can see is that some of your columns appear to be failing due to their slenderness ratio.

In the Post Processing mode, if you go to the Beam tab, Unity Check sub-yab, you can review the controlling code Clause on a member-by-member basis in the Design Results table.

I hope this helps, but if you need specific information about a particular code check that is being performed, you will probably get the fastest response by submitting a Service Ticket to the Technical Support Group.
