section properties

Hi all,

my query is regarding section properties.

 If i want to add a new section using modify section propeties,What all the parameters required? I am little confused how the coordinates are considered.what does ct,Zx,Zy values represent?If  Z is the major axis,There is no Zz value but Zx is given.

    Zx is the plastic section modulus about the Z axis. Logically, this term should have been called Zz.
    Zy is the plastic section modulus about the local Y axis.

    If the section that you are trying to add is I-shaped, then, Ct is the distance along the local Y axis from the top of flange to the CG of a T-shape which can be cut from that I shape. If a T shape cannot be cut from that I shape, set Ct to zero.

    If the section that you are trying to add is a channel, then, Ct is the distance from the outer edge of the web to the CG of the section, along the local Y axis.

    For calculating the ct value,do we require to cut the secton at the centre of the I section?
