We haven't heard much on the STAAD(X) front since the last version was released. Back in December 2008?
How is it coming along? When is the next release? How will the capabilities compare to STAAD Pro?
Inquiring minds want to know.
The developers are currently working toward an impending release of STAAD(X).
It is still a work-in-progress, and this release will not be on par with the functionality that currently exists in STAAD.Pro. However, STAAD(X) does have some advanced features, which are not available in STAAD.Pro.
At this point STAAD(X) is still regarded as a companion product to STAAD.Pro. The current plan is to complete all functionalities required for US users by the end of this year and to release another version of STAAD(X) when those functionalities are in place.
Note that all users who are current on their SELECT agreement for STAAD.Pro, have free access to STAAD(X).
Cheers,
Chris
bump.
Can we can an update please? What's the latest development with STAAD(X) since this last post? I've been trying to use STAAD (X) to help create FEM models, then I export the model back to STAAD Pro for analysis. Some things have been buggy with regard to the meshing, so I'm interested in any developments in this area. Can we expect a new beta version uploaded any time soon?
thanks,
JC
we are having a new release of STAAD(X) very soon
I apologize for not being specific enough. I did ask if the new version would be released "any time soon", and the response I got was "very soon". That's great!
Can we expect to see the new release before the end of July 2010? Are there any significant features/fixes that we can expect to look forward to?
As per the information received from the software development group, the next version is expected to be released by around the middle of August 2010.
