Hi everybody. I just have a question regarding STAAD Foundation. I want to design a combined foundation. After I put the loads, set the load combination etc. I run the analysis. In the results, the software is giving me the dimensions of the footing but not the steelbars. Checking the progress report is says:
"Could not calculate design shear force and bending moment, skipping design for current load case"
Could anybody help please?

Note that STAAD.Pro is a general tool software for analysis. Any kind of any shape of structure can easily analize using STAAD.Pro.
Thank both of you for your response. I used another software because I couldn't get through. Chaz I'm familiar with STAAD.Pro and I would like to know how to analyze combined foundation.

I saw your reply given to Sawas regarding designing combined footing in staad Pro. I request you to help me in this regard. I am novicely designing some of the footings in Staad pro by modelling the foundation as beam and plate resting on Fixed supports at the node where column is there above the footing and applying the reaction of the foundation on the bottom of the model in positive Y direction. I am also accounting for the self weight of footing in the same manner . I do not know how far I am correct but the design for the beam appears to be reasonable. My problem is that I am not able to account for the moment that is trasferred to the footing from the support reactions. Please advise me some better process in which all the forces coud be accounted for reasonably. Slab is designed manually by me because it does not take much time Some amount of manual work is also involved in working out the upward reaction exerted by the base. Can you please post some standard file in the Forum for benefit of all cocerned so that one could learn to design some if not all of the fondation elements with Staad pro.

Sorry for the late responce. I will post std. file showing the iterative design process of combined footing soon because i'm a little bit busy right now. To be able to understand the design of combined footing using STAAD.Pro, you must be knowledgable for the design of footings using the conventional method.
