Hi,
While doing steel design as per IS:800-2007 using STAAD V8i, I face the following issue.
1. FYLD and FU values I assign for a member is not designing. It shows a message that given value is not corrrect.
2. If I dont assign any value, it is considering default values as FYLD(250N/mm2) and FU(420N/mm2). Even if I manually specify the default values, it still gives me the same error/warning.
3. Basically, I need to consider FYLD=240N/mm2 and FU =410N/mm2 for member more than 20mm thickness. I am unable to do so.
Please share your expertise to overcome this.
Thanks
JJ
There was an error in the initial build of STAAD.Pro V8i due to which the user-specified value for the FYLD parameter was not recognized by the analysis engine. This has since been corrected. We suggest you run the model on one of the recent builds (20.07.06.35 or 20.07.07.19). You can download and install it from the Bentley SELECT services site.

Thanks for the info.
As per your suggestion, I have installed 20.07.07.19. I am able to overcome the issue I was facing earlier. But I have one issue. While using steel member as buildup section (while checking section classification), STADD is considering "Outstanding width" of the element as "Flange Width" / 2 (ie bf/2). But as per the code standards it should be (bf-tw)/2. I want your expertise on how to overcome this. Also let me know if theree is any recent builds other than what you suggested earlier.
