  • Dear Sir,

I have given the details in another post of similar nature... I dont know how to use EUDL (seems too complicated). But GLD parameter is easy.

    Usage of GLD parameter:

After setting Design Code as IS13920 and before setting Design beam command, enter

    GLD <load comb no> <list of beams>

The load comb number should refer to a load combination in the staad file that has all dead and live loads and list of beams should be full set of beams being designed by IS13920 code...

    Hope that helps...

    Arun

  • Dear Mr.Arun,

Thanks for your reply. I went through the help menu and got the answers. You can use either EUDL or GLD. I f used both the program considers the EUDL. The EUDL value is to be calculated manualyy of DL and LL on member and enter as:

EUDL 30Member 10 12 where 30 is the DL +LL and 10 and 12 are the member number.

Just carefully go through the section IS13920 given in the manual where the statements of the commands are put in order.

Hope that the above may help and if any comments on this is welcome.

    T.Rangarajan.

  • Dear Sir,

Yes, I think I understand EUDL command now... But I think it is too complicated to use EUDL command for each member/group of members in a large structure... And there will be chance for human error as the structure becomes larger and more complex... I feel GLD is the easy solution... Maybe EUDL can be used if unsupported commands like CMOM, etc are present in the load cases...

  • While using GLD command , whether it is to be applied on all beams and columns  or beams only..????

Also please suggest all the parameters to be selected while designing building as per IS 13920 along with their values to be considered.
