Dear Gents,
While generating the Seismic Load, the floor load applied on beams could not be seen in the input file but only reads as under;
Floor Weight
Yrange 0 9 Fload 6.5
(Please refer to my attached staad file)
Under the above line should come the no. of beams on which it is assigned. Also in model Floor load of 6.5 could not be seen on the beams. Am I doing it wrong? If yes, then please tell me the correct way of the assignment of various weights i.e, floor weight and joint weight in Seismic load generation.
Also,
Please tell me the correct way of assigning two different floor loads at different levels. You can see the attached file in which I could not assign the Floor load (live load) of different values at different levels. Could you please suggest me the correct way.?
Please make the corrections on my attached Staad File & reload it.
Thanking you,
Mushtaq Ahmad
I have looked into the file posted by you. According to me you have correctly applied all the loads in the load cases as also in the seismic definition. The line no. will not be seen for the floor load. However floor load distribution and direction can be seen if you click the the floor load in the data area for the primary load case.
Self weight of member 51 is missing in the primary load case
Thank you very much Mr. Sureshprsharma,
Agreed for missing of self weight for member 51.
Can any body answer for the 2nd part of my quarry i.e, for the assignment of floor load?
Thanks.
What I understand from your question that you mean to apply Live Load of Load Case 5 in two stages i.e.first at o.o m level and next at 4.5 m level. If that be the case it is very easy. At first you select Y-range from 0 to say 1 meter i.e. less than 4.5 m. The live load so assigned will be applied at 0.0 level because the only floor available in the above Y range is ground floor. Add this load. Then again select floor load and select Y-range from 1 meter to 4.6 meter a little more than 4.5m to be safe or you can keep it as 4.5 meter also and add. The floor load is now applied in two stages i.e. first ground floor and then first floor.
What I am observing is while apply a load of -1.2KN/m2 with Y range of 0 4.5 is being assigned at +4.5level & it is not generating floor load of -0.90KN/m2 at +9.0m with Y range of 8.5 9.10 or like wise. In fact it is generating Floor load with y range of 0 9 & is getting assigned at +4.5m & +9.0m simultaneously.
Could you please apply & assign a load of -1.2KN/m2 at +4.50m & -0.90 KN/m2 at +9.0m & up this file so that I can correct myself.
