Hi everyone,I'm a new user of RAM Steel Beam and of this website. I am doing my beam design now. I have been modelling for all of last week, but for some reason, can't figure out how to model continuous beams! When I add a beam over a column in RAM Modeler it gives the error "Unable to add this beam. Span crosses another member at ..." and when placing columns underneath beams is not allowed as well (where I get the error "Unable to add column. Column would be placed on beam mid-span", which I could expect, but I don't find another function for introducing continuous beams.

I would greatly appreciate your response! Have been dealing with this issue for the whole week and the RAM Modeler manual doesn't seem to explain it.
I am using RAM version 14.02.02.00.

Try adding a beam each side of the column and changing the fixities so that it acts continuous. I think that will work.
