in my model design by staad i found columns ( corner columns for example) i see that top column is having high amount of axial force & bending moments compared to column beneath it. so while designing the column i am having so much problem . even the ratios are higher and accordingly because of that i am getting higher section . what should i do to overcome it. is this because my model is having height difference? how to tackle this problem.

Bending moment can be higher in upper columns than the lower columns because of lateral load and the arrangement of beams and column at the junction of beam and column but the axial force can not be higher in upper floors. I am sending the graphical view of the upper left hand corner column for load case 3. The graph is in order and gradually increases as you move to the bottom. Probably you might be facing some viewing problem in your model.
