  • Sorry It was an error on my system

    Kind Regards

  • Can you attach the STAAD file or send it to my email address nihesh.n@bentley.com?

  • Thanks Nihesh

I have a new problem, it hapens when I try to input the load case in a Front to Front or Back to back channel , the program display an error for the both cases.

  • We acknowledge the error. We have already brought this to the attention of the development team. For the time being here are the workarounds. We would also like to mention that this happens only when you try to insert hole during parametric meshing option. if you try to add the hole after meshing it doesnt cause any errors

    1. In your STAAD model, go to Edit> Edit Input command file

    2. In the input file, you will find the following commands.
    *******************************************
    PARAMETRIC MODEL MESH MODEL 3
    MESH PARAM 0.7 4 0 0
    MESH ORG 1 2 3
    BOUNDARY 5
    ------------------
    ------------------
    DENSITY LINE 0 0 2.8 1 2.7 0 2.8 1 0
    GENERATED NODES 10 TO 1042
    GENERATED PLATES ALL
    END

    *******************************************
These commands are meant for Parametric modeling. The main function of these commands are to generate the plates. Since, the plates has been successfully generated, we can inactivate the list of commands by putting a asterix mark before the lines as shown below.
    *******************************************
    *PARAMETRIC MODEL MESH MODEL 3
    *MESH PARAM 0.7 4 0 0
    *MESH ORG 1 2 3
    *BOUNDARY 5
    ------------------
    ------------------
    *DENSITY LINE 0 0 2.8 1 2.7 0 2.8 1 0
    *GENERATED NODES 10 TO 1042
    *GENERATED PLATES ALL
    *END
    *******************************************
Generally, the parametric modeling data need to be generated in the following way.

<! STAAD PRO GENERATED DATA DO NOT MODIFY!!!
    -----------------------------------
    PARAMETRIC MODELING COMMANDS
    ----------------------------------
    !> END GENERATED DATA BLOCK

The reason why you are getting the error message during analysis is because these comment lines (i.e.

So, as a alternative process you can add these commands from the STAAD editor.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------
<!STAAD PRO GENERATED DATA DO NOT MODIFY

    PARAMETRIC MODEL MESH MODEL 3
    MESH PARAM 0.7 4 0 0
    MESH ORG 1 2 3
    BOUNDARY 5
    ------------------
    ------------------
    DENSITY LINE 0 0 2.8 1 2.7 0 2.8 1 0
    GENERATED NODES 10 TO 1042
    GENERATED PLATES ALL
    END
    !> END GENERATED DATA BLOCK
    --------------------------------------------------------------------

  • I found errors with the new mesh options , when I add a hole using anyone ( standar or basic ) method. The program does not run.
