Answer :

If we assume that the Dead Load case is load case 1, and the earthquake load case is load case 7, then,

1.2(0.9D-EQX)

reduces to

1.08 * Load case 1 - 1.2 * Load case 7

The Repeat Load syntax would look like this

LOAD 31 1.2(0.9D-EQX)

REPEAT LOAD

1 1.08 7 -1.20

The load combination syntax would look like this

LOAD COMBINATION 41 1.2(0.9D-EQX)

1 1.08 7 -1.20

Regarding your question on Reference Load

Have you read sections 5.31.6 and 5.33 of the Technical Reference manual? Let us know if those do not have the informaton you are looking for.

You use REPEAT LOAD in P-Delta, compression / tension only members...
