Hi
I am performing a code check against EC3 and have specified the TRACK parameter as 2.0 i.e. to output detailed results. I see these results in the output file but there does not seem to be any way to include them in a report. If I select Steel Design Detail from the Output item categories, only very basic results as per TRACK 0.0 are displayed in the report (even though ‘Track 2’ is shown in the title for each member.) Is there any way to include the TRACK 2 results in a report or have I missed something?
Incidentally, if I perform a code check using the steel design module (post-processing) then I can select steel design output from the item categories and include a detailed design calculation for each (physical) member in the report, but I can only check against the old (EC3 DD ENV 1993-1-1:1992) Eurocode; this has been superseded by EC3 BS EN 1993-1-1:2005 which must be checked by the batch design method. What is the reason for this? To my mind the steel design module is preferable as it is possible to specify and check physical members made up of several beams and also to specify varying load cases / groups to be checked, and without re-running the analysis (as well as include each calculation in a report.)
Any advice / solutions would be much appreciated.
Regards,
Edward
Hello Andrew, Could you upload your file, maybe then someone will be able to help you. I always found staad results within 1% of hand calculation
Hello Any update on this ? I have spent an infuriating hour trying to find out why STAADs EC3 is giving a 10% different utilisation to my hand calculated one.
Hello
For the batch mode design, the detailed output is presently not available in the report setup for EC3 despite the report showing TRACK 2, a devtrack for future enhancement of this feature has already been logged with our developers.
About implementing the latest steel code in the Steel Design Module, I will discuss it with the development team and will keep you updated.
Thanks
