Hi
I'm currently working on my thesis.
Our tools are:
Autodesk Inventor
Staad Pro
ANSYS 13.
CEASAR II
We are making a CFU-skid for FPSO.
The vessel is subjected to acceleration due to waves.
I want to do a dynamic analysis of the structure, piping and equipment.
1) How do i analyze the structure using time-history loads?
(Error message: Misspelling??) - Input freq, amp, cycles is correct.
Are there any step by step instructions available?
2) How can I simulate equipment and pipe masses subjected to inertia due to waves in Staad Pro?
We have made 3D modell in Autodesk inventor of the CFU-Skid.
3) Is it possible to export assemblies from Autodesk Inventor to ANSYS or Staad Pro?
Are there step by step instructions available for export and analysis?
Any tip would be helpful.

Ans to Q1 : See example 22 in the Application Examples section.
Ans to Q2 : Those additional weights can be modeled using MEMBER LOAD, ELEMENT LOAD and JOINT LOAD in all global directions along with the selfweight. Make sure you specify the magnitudes using positive numbers. See example 29 where the FLOOR LOAD is applied along all 3 directions.
Ans to Q3 : To export a beam or plate model from any software to STAAD.Pro, the choices are - DXF, CIS/2 and recently, ISM
