Dear Staad Experts,
Attached is a simple Joist with tapered ends. For making the model as close to the real application as possible I have applied a "OFFSET" so as to achieve the top flange straight, due to this the NA has become slanting for the TAPERED section of the beam.
Since the "LOAD applied is at the neutral axis, this results in a Axial force.
Is there any way that I can make staad apply the loading at the top flange location of the beam so that the Load line is straight ??

If you have member offsets, you will always get axial forces in the member and the same is true even if you have equal offsets at both ends.

If your idea behind keeping a straight load line is to ensure that the load is applied on the projected length as opposed to the inclined length, you can do so using the PY option instead of GY as shown next
