Hi everybody,
I tried to create a new section using section wizard and then exporting it into STAAD, and using create user table >>> Define >>> assign, but when I tried to view it as a 3D rendered , it appered as a line, and I've to view it in its real shape to get the proper Beta Angle of the beam to get the right load analysis of my structure and then a right design,
so what's the solution for this situation??????
Thanks a lot in advance =')
Hello
In order to plot the profile of the section in the STAAD GUI, the program needs to know the exact shape. The shape can be understood only if STAAD.Pro knows the coordinates of the corners of the cross section. Unfortunately, when one creates a PRISMATIC or a GENERAL section using Section Wizard and exporting that data to a STAAD user table file, the coordinates of the corners are not exported with the property values. Due to this, STAAD is unable to draw the precise shape.
As a workaround, if suitable for your section , you may use the "Create User Table" from the Tools Menu and use the General Section type .
Switch on the check box named Define Profile polygon and provide the coordinates of the corners. Once all corners are specified, click on Compute Section Properties and save it.
Hi Shany,
I created the following section, and as you said it won't draw the section,
so that, I did as you told me (Create user table>>General>>OK), but no choice is available, i.e: the following appears:
Ohhh, sorry it's working now, and I'm going to get my section =')
thanks a lot Shany =')
Happy to help....
