I am just wondering how to use SWAY command in StaadPro. I am trying to find out sway sensitivity of a portal frame as well as would like program to tell me what section sizes/ proportioning of the frame to be chosen so that if the actual model was sensitive to sway then this could be improved!!!

As per BS 5950 , the SWAY load case is supposed to contain the kamp * Ms loads, which the program expects the user to specify manually.
The above needs to be determined by a manual analysis as described in clause 2.4.2.8. You may refer to the Technical Reference Manual .
