master/slave command error

Dear Forum Members,

I'm doing design of GT foundation by using the staad. Since the plate modelling are centreline, i used master/slave command to get exact mat model. The staad model is attached here. After run of model, i'm getting the below warnings,

**WARNING: Time History analysis is being performed with the
MASTER-SLAVE command. Forces applied at slave dof will be ignored.
Revise these loads so they apply to the master node and add one or more
moment components at the master, if appropriate.

*WARNING* MASTER / SLAVE EQUATIONS ARE NOT PROPERLY CONSIDERED IN A TIME/STEADY SOLUTION.

The Model has Dead Load and time history load.

The base pressure result, deflection all shows as value zero.

please suggest to overcome the error. Thanks in advance.

Regards

  • Solid elements are probably a better choice for this structure.

Each of the 0.75 m regions could be modeled using elements of size 0.5m X 0.375m X 0.1875 m size where these dimensions are along  global X, global Z and global Y, bringing the number of elements to 40X4X4 = 640 each.

    For the 2.75m region, the elements could be 0.5m X 0.5625 m X 0.1875 m for the bottom 0.75m portion of the slab, and, 0.5m X 0.5625 m X 0.5 m for the upper 2 m. The number of elements will thus be 40 X 8 * 4 + 40 * 8 * 4 = 2560.

This will eliminate the need for master-slave.

You will also have to apply the selfweight along global X and Z for the time history load case in order for the program to consider vibration along those directions. Without those, the machine loads applied along FX and FZ would not have any effect.

  • Same Warning is coming in my model. Please help if possible
