In case if there is an unexpected crash after clicking a small blue icon (empty toolbar with only option - to close, which when clicked causes program to crash):
Try doing the following:1. Close STAAD.Pro.2. Go to Start menu ->click Run-> type REGEDIT and click Ok. The Registry Editor window will appear.3. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER ->Software->Research Engineers->StaadPro->select 2007 and delete it.4. Close the registry editor window and run STAAD.Pro and see if this helped.
Note that you need to have sufficient administrative rights to edit the Registry and decide on your own if it is acceptable to do so.
The same solution might help in case when STAAD.Pro is crashing while opening it. If the crash is happening while opening any STAAD.Pro model or the STAAD.Pro welcome screen, then deleting this registry key resolves the issue in most of the cases.
