RAM Connection - Beam Rupture Check

I am using RAM Connection (standalone version 7.0).  One of the connections I am designing for is a simple shear connection with clip angles welded to the supported beam and bolted to the supporing member/column.  The beam in this case is not coped and therefore the top flange is fully intact.  The program checks for beam yielding and beam rupture per AISC equations J4-4 and J4-5, respectively.  I would think that beam rupture is not a necessary check in this case since the assumed failure must go thru the flanges.  I would understand that rupture would be checked if say the beam was coped at the top and bottom flanges.  However, I feel the need to check for beam rupture in the case I'm looking at is not necessary.   Is this check done for all connection types in RAM regardless of the beam parameters or is it a check that can be ignored in the case of a non-coped beam?
