This message is indicating that the software is not able to establish the section type for the circular hollow sections. It should still be able to generate the loads in Offshore though. Is that what you are observing too ? As to why it is failing to recognize the section type for a CHS section, I have to check with the developers.
Dear sye
Thanks for the reply. if we use user defined Pipe section using Tools --> create user tools--> in staad pro those section STAAD offshore perfectly accepts this and shows as PIPE. But if you use section database -->European section--> Pipe and input the Defined pipe--> OD & ID, Its not recogonised by STAAD offshore. This is for you kind information. if this issue with CHS is solved then all Hollow sections (pipe) will be
recogonised by the software. looking for the solution or patch update for this issue from STAAD offshore team.
Please kindly advice/inform us regarding the final conclusion for the same.
Bagmass.
Dear Sye & Staad offshore developers
May I Know any improvement/ Status on the above query in staad offshore. How to avoid Warning in staad when we use European section ---> pipe and CHS sections imported from Staad pro to Staad offshore. May i know the when we will expect the positive solution for this Compatibility issues.
Looking forward for ur reply
I had a discussion with our development desk and a bug report has been logged. This will be addressed in the software. However if you go to Section Database > European > Pipe > Define Pipe and define your section using the OD and ID, it should import into Offshore. I just tested it. Defining these as user defined pipes through Tools > Create User Table, as you mentioned earlier, is another workaround for now.
Dear Sye & Staad developer team,
Thanks for the information. Our Idea of developing custom DB for Built up section is to avoid user defined section. we donot want Individual to define section properties each time as there may be a possibility of making mistake. we have approx. 100+ section and minimum for each model there may be 20 different members need to be defined out of which 50% Pipe. the volume of model is so big we decided to go for predefined database to avoid any error. If Staad team develops any patch files for this error it could be very useful to us. Kindly let us know if any development on this.
Apart from this issue i asked few more compatibility issues
1. SELFWEIGHT Y -1.2, STAAD OFFSHORE Does not read the factors consider 1 only.
2.Fireproofing load specification available in staad pro not Recognized is Offshore.
Is there any solution for this problems?
Let us know.
Thanks & Regards
