Clip volumes - issues with the display

Hi,

I have 2 problems with using a clip volume in my view.

1) Applying clip volume to a view is making some of my levels disappear from view?

2) Can I get the cipped view to display a wireframe? For some reason once I clip my view it automatically changes to a hidden display view.

Thanks in advance!

Sort of, .... perhaps not immediately, but once you have created the volume, open the View Attributes Dialogue, change the View Display to Wireframe, then below, where it says 'Forward View', change that to 'From View'

I've also found that display performance (when modelling) improves quite a lot when you turn of 'Cut View' in the View Attributes.

Minor request, .... when ever you create a dynamic clip volume, it automatically changes the View Display to 'shaded', ..... this is really irritating, .... could it not just be left as it was. I'd like it to stay as I've set it and not keep getting changed (without me asking it to)

  • Did you ever get the answer to this question, I have a user who wants this same option. I have not found a way to stop building views from promoting to part and family forward view symbology. A keyin for demoting the view would be an option but what that would be or if there is such a keyin I dont know and cant find.

  • Hi Terrence,

Is there a reason you would not want to use the Part defined resymbolization?   That is a big part of how DVs are typically used.
