Hi everyone.
I am currently handling a structure that requires dynamic analysis for blast loads. I hope someone could enlighten me on the following:
1. Why is there a need for a dynamic analysis on blast loading? Is applying max blast wave pressure in Staad not enough? What's the advantage of doing dynamic analysis on blast against static?
2. I read that you have to define time history when analyzing for blast. How will you define that one considering there will be different impacts of blast on front wall, rear, sides and roof?
If you can communicate with me directly, that would be very helpful. Giving me example of blast analysis would be extremely beneficial.
I am not always here in this community because I am very busy in the office.

You could use the Time History Loading to simulate the impact load or blast loading. Please refer to the following link for more detail.

In STAAD.Pro, you can specify the Blast Loading as in Impulse Time History Loading and find the response of the structure accordingly.
Please find the attachments. Please let me know if you need any further information on this.
Wow! That was fast. Thanks a lot.
Thanks.
Sir I have considered a RCC Frame structure and by using IS 4991-1968 I have calculated the blast parameters required and finally calculated Force in Kilo Newton for the Pressure on Front Face and no Pressure on Rear Face. Now I know only one point that blast loads are applied on the structure using Time History Loading in Staad Pro.Now please help me out how to give blast loading in Staad with detailed procedure or else a manual for giving blast loding using Staad. How to give Time History of Loads at Nodes ( Charge Weight-100 kg , Stand off distance - 30 m)
