I'm designing a steel shelter by portal frame with the span of 27 meter. Because the column is tapered section, I defined the member by "Tapered I".
If I use "CODE AISC UNIFIED 2005" for code checking, the design work by staadpro is ok. But If I use "CODE AISC UNIFIED 2010", there will be "WARNING: DESIGN OF SECTION FOR MEMBER # xx IS NOT SUPPORTED." and the warning members are the tapered columns.
I also tried to define a user table ISECTION for this, but the same thing happened. The tapered section can be disigned by AISC05 but not supported by AISC10.
I use "method LRFD". How can I make it if I want to use AISC10 for design?
OH,it's very old one.
So may I make a conlusion that if I want to use a tapered section member, the latest version of checking code is AISC360-05?
Yes, that is correct. An enhancement request is posted of the developers to implement Tapered I section design as per AISC 360-10, however, I am not sure when this might happen.

It is very likely to be available in the upcoming release.
Could you update me the status of tapered section element design in Staad.Pro now? which one is it referred to?
AISC 360-16 design code can design tapered sections in the most recent STAAD.Pro CONNEC Edition version 22.01.00.39.
