I cannot seem to find where to change the importance factor for my building. Is this in the code somewhere when I select the IBC code I want to use?
The importance factors are set when defining each lateral load case (i.e. wind or seismic). It might be more convenient to define a single importance factor for the model, but this way it's more flexible.
Where can I change the importance factor? I see the load cases and they are selected based on a specific code, but for instance, when I choose Wind and then ASCE 7-05 / IBC 06/09, where do I change the importance factor for my building?

When you create (or change) a Code Specific lateral load in RAM Frame you are presented with a dialog box that includes things like Wind Speed and Importance factor.
The ASCE 7-10 manual changed things, however. Now there is no Importance factor for wind anymore. Rather the Basic Wind speed should be elevated (using a different chart) when the building is in a higher Risk Category.
That dialog screen is exactly what I need. Where do I find that one? I must be missing something because I assigned load cases based on the ASEC 7-05 for Wind, and nothing like that ever popped up.
Holy crap. How did I miss that dialog the first go around. I just deleted the wind cases I had and created new ones to see this dialog. Thanks for the help!
No problem. Next time select the load group at the bottom of the Loads - Load cases window and click Change... it saves time re-entering all the variables.
