Hello I'm just a beginner in staad pro. I'm trying to design a 6-storey building. After analyzing the structure i used commands option to perform concrete design. It gave me reinforcing details for column and beam. But not for slab. I added plates for slabs and perform quadrilateral surface meshing.(I read that in a tutorial I don't even know what surface meshing is) My questions are:
1) What should I do to design slab? 2) Can i perform calculation of lift and stairs in staad pro? if so then how? Please take a look at my file and point out any error.
Thanks and appreciation in advance for help.
Here is the file
Hi,
To design a concrete slab in STAAD.Pro, you need to add the DESIGN ELEMENT command. In your model, you have specified the command and program designs all the plate elements. The reinforcement details are reported in the output file as shown in the following figure:
Thank you very much. Now it's all been cleared to me.
Can anyone please explain how can I design columns and beams by taking results from a solid model i have generated in staad.
hello sir suro i have a question regarding the sq.in/ft. ratio, can you please elaborate more on this, for example if on this design the reinforcing steel that i going to be use is #3 bars what would the spacing be? i dont understand the output... the part that has (top : 0.130) <--------is this the ratio? and what is it for? thanks in advance
Hi sir , i have a qstion
How to design beam and slab simultaneously in staad
If i give floor load plate wont be considered
If i give plate load that won be transfered to beam (plate not meshed to get descent ast ) is there a way to get proper design of beam and slab in staad
I think its better to design Column and beam once, then slap
