Composite Deck

Hello,

I'm using STAAD.Pro SS4.

After creating a composite deck and running the analysis, I'm seeing only the forces and moments on the profiles. , how can I see the deflection in the concrete deck and shear forces between concrete and profiles?

  • The composite deck modeling, automatically assigns an effective deck width to the beams. The  stiffness considered for the beam for analysis is the stiffness due to the composite section comprising of the steel beam and the deck. The deck however is not modeled as a plate mesh and so it is not possible to check the deflections at locations within the deck. The beam deflections would however be calculated considering the composite section. If it is important for you to get the deflection at deck, you may consider modeling the deck using a mesh of plates. There is also no direct reporting of shears between the deck and the steel section.
