I was wondering if there was a way to design girders with a different minimum composite action than my joists. Currently I have the minimum set at 25% for all beams but I want the girders to be designed for a minimum of 50%. Is there a way in RAM to set multiple criteria rather than going to each girder and changing the number of studs?
I would set your criteria, run the model and freeze the members you want,. Then change the criteria and re-run the model, freezing the rest of the designs. Make sure your preference is set to use the composite properties of the beam when below the minimum % (not the bare beam properties)
