Hi
I'm going to design a steel structure according to Eurocode 3. In steel design menu can I see that there is two choices: EC3 BS and EC3 DD. Which one is valid?
I'm living in Denmark and I can see that there is DS412. Is it valid until now?
Best regards
Waleed Khalid
In the Modeling mode go to Design -> Steel vertical tab. Then select the EN 1993-1-1:2005 design code from the dropdown menu on the right hand. EN 1993-1-1:2005 is a valid EC3 code. EC3-DD is draft version which is outdated.
Thanks. In menu to the right have I only EC3 BS and EC3 DD. I have no EN 1993.1.1:2005. I can understand that EC3 DD is not valid. Can I use EC3 BS?
Thanks
What is the exact STAAD.Pro version which you are using? You can find it by going to Help -> About STAAD.Pro. Also, please attach the screenshot of the design code which you can see in the list. Thanks!
STAAD.Pro v8i
Release 20.07.04.12
The STAAD.Pro version which you are using is very old. I would recommend you to use the latest version of STAAD.Pro (build 20.07.10.41) which has many enhancements and modifications related to the design as per EC3.

Ok thanks. How can I upload a screen shot if I need this in the future?
