I tried to create base plate by smart connection of RAM.Connection (in STAAD.Pro environment) but it's always failed.
Anything was wrong with selecting the node at the low end of the steel column?

Make sure the column is plumb (up and down), has a valid shape and material, and that no other members are connected to the base node. Where braces are connected, they need to be defined as truss members typically, and you have to use the Gusset Base Plate type connection,.
Also make sure you have a valid license for Ram Connection.
