Results Along Line

Is there any way (such as programing cut lines into the input file/saving your cut lines) to not lose cut lines after making modifications to the model and re running the analysis? I found a post about this two years ago and I'm not sure if any enhancements…

OpenStaad GetResultantForceAlongLineForPlateList function to returns forces and moments along the cut line for a particular load case in plates
Jose_Jesus Sosa
I have 3 issues with trying to use the GetResultantForceAlongLineForPlateList function that I suppose are probably the cause I can't retrieve yet the resultant forces along a line of cut plates thus any example, supplementary data or help would be truly…

Problem with the tool "RESULT ALONG LINE" after update V22.02
Simone Menichetti
Comparing the solicitations obtained from the Result along line command, before and after installing the update from the V22 update 1 version to the update 2 version, the results are different. With the previous version, I calculated plausible values…

RE: How to get plate design forces at specific location using "Result along Line - cut by line/cut by plane"
Sye
When you are defining the cutline by a plane, you are required to define the plane first. The first second and third points are used to define that plane. The X Y and Z are the global coordinates for these points.

RE: How to get plate design forces at specific location using "Result along Line - cut by line/cut by plane"
Sye
I prefer to use Cut by a Plane as it allows more control on where to locate the cut plane. Try to place the cut plane as close to the center of the plates as possible. If you can run it through the plate centers it would be best. Avoid running it through…

RE: shear wall design using plates

When you want to draw the cut line for a particular wall, ensure that you only have that wall in your view ( select the wall elements and go to View > View Selected Objects Only ). Change your view to a suitable elevation view so that you see the wall…

Re: STAAD: Bending moment in plate elements

I have several questions regarding the "results along line" function. 1. What is the coordinate system of the cut? 2. Could you please explain each column in Total Force tab? They are Fx (line), Fy (line), Fxy (line), Mx (Line), My (Line), Mz…
