The proposal to have the material strength for direct analysis is determined from the material strength definition.
Adding the unit for FYLD parameter would be helpful.
Just like the material information.
Sometimes It is confusing which unit should be used.(of course it is same as material strength(stress))

Many thanks for posting this suggestion. However I think we should do even more than this. As you have pointed out, we already identify the yield strength as part of a material definition which has already been assigned to the member, so this is a redundant parameter. So would you agree that the proposal should be to remove this parameter entirely and simply use the specification defined in the material? If so then I would support your idea.
