Mass Reference Load in a Model as a Default

It should be the default way and I think its a great idea to include Mass Reference Load in X,Y and Z global  direction as a default as it works for ELF, RSA and TH, Static and Dynamic Analysis.
I would also Suggest Let User define what they would like to call a Load Combination, obviously including a Repeat loads, instead of traditional Non P-Delta Analysis as LC.
I think this will avoid confusion and errors on user's part as tweaking error prone way to modify .STD input file.

  • I am not suggesting , my intention was to avoid LC method that does not do iterations, does not analyze and simply combines 1st order results.
And still get the accurate results No Matter which Method was used to analyze.

  • So are you suggesting that in the GUI, when adding items into a load case defined as type MASS, then rather than having the default direction as in the vertical direction (i.e. Y), which is reasonable for gravity load cases, then it is set as X, Y and Z which would be more appropriate as mass is directionless, although the direction vector indicates that the mass is tied to the structure in that direction, which indicates that it is tied to the direction in that direction. If it is released, then that indicates that the mass is not tied (e.g. on a roller), in that direction.

With regard to your second suggestion, I am not 100% clear what you are proposing. Is it to do with the fact that if regular combinations are defined, i.e. that use the law of superposition, then the user should be warned when attempting to create a p-delta analysis and advise that the combination changed to a primary load case and use repeat loads?
