Third Design Code IS 456 + IS 13920-1993 + IS 13920-2016 in RCDC | STAAD

In RCDC we are using 2 types of Design Codes Combinations like this.

  1. IS 456 + IS 13920-1993
  2. IS 456 + IS 13920-2016

Can't we have Third Design Code IS 456 + IS 13920-1993 + IS 13920-2016 in RCDC (SACD) or STAAD Pro like this?

Because In IS 456 we have 32 parameters and in  IS 13920-1993 we have 34 parameters and in IS 13920-2016 we have 36 parameters

I want all the three IS parameter (a total of 102) Design Code Combinations just like Load Combinations

For using Fy values beyond 415 MPa we are using RCDC Design Combinations to overcome above said issue.

  • Hi

may i know why you need to use IS 13920-1993 and IS 13920-2016 versions in a single design?
Generally when code committee release the new version , it updates the old clauses and formulas. It is expected that engineers should use new design code for design.

limiting fy to 415 in shear design is requirement of IS 456 which is base code. This applies to shear design of all modules which includes all types of loads.
