Cannot Save Model in RAM Modeler

      Product(s): RAM Modeler
      Version(s): 14.06.01.00
      Area:  File; General

    Problem Description

When attempting to save a file in RAM Modeler, an error like the one below occurs:

"Could not zip ram model files: P:\ to create file P:\filename.rss.  Please contact Bentley Technical Support."

The drive specified is a network drive. The actual file may be saved either locally or on the network drive.

    Reason

The working directory is set to a network drive. The program is prevented from compressing the files in the working directory into the .rss file format after using the save command.

    Steps to Resolve

Option 1: Save the Model in RAM Manager

The problem with saving the file in the working directory does not occur in RAM Manager.

Option 2:  Change the Path of the working directory

Refer to the first frequently asked question on the following web page for information on changing the path of the working directory:

    RAM SS Files FAQ

    The default path are:

    Windows Vista/7 - C:\ProgramData\Bentley\Engineering\RAM Structural System

    Windows XP - C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Bentley\Engineering\RAM Structural System
